BACKGROUND: Blue Note Bourbon comes from B.R. Distilling based out of Memphis, TN which is the oldest licensed distillery in Memphis. Named after the world-famous Memphis blues music, Blue Note is a straight Tennessee bourbon whiskey. B.R. Distilling distills and ages their whiskey near the banks of the Mississippi River deep in the Delta with the heat and humidity allowing for their whiskey to have distinct and rich flavors. B.R. Distilling offers 5 expressions of Blue Note: Juke Joint, Juke Joint Uncut, Premium Small Batch, Single Barrel, and 17 Year.

NOSE: Warm sweet notes of vanilla and brown sugar rush throughout your senses, mixed with sweet notes of maple syrup, molasses, and and a light spice that fades into a smoked oak, quite enjoyable. (21/25)

PALATE: The palate follows right along with the nose. The thick oily mouthful quickly spreads around your mouth leaving you with flavors of caramel, toasted vanilla, and a delicious nutty sensation. (31/40)

FINISH: A shorter finish, yet quite enjoyable filled with flavors of oak spice, vanilla, orange rinds, and a leathery sensation. (22/25)

VALUE: For $30 this is a wonderful bourbon that could be drunk neat or turned into a wonderful cocktail. (7/10)

Overall: 81/100

FINAL THOUGHTS: Blue Note Juke Joint is a wonderful classic bourbon loaded with flavors from start to finish. The smoothness was something that really stood out, being that this bottle is just $30. This is definitely a bottle that is an easy go-to for anytime you have company or making delicious cocktails.
